“Lessons in Values” is a collaborative effort between two friends, Photographer Philip Short and Painter Barry Sons. The collection consists of twelve black and white photographs and the three different paintings that were created as the photographs were interpreted through the painter’s point of view.
The idea was born out of a conversation about wanting to capture what appeared to be a rare snowy day in Georgia. The artists chose to work in the range of values that exists between the spectrums of black and white. Feeling it would highlight how the merging and integration of these values, from the most subtle to the extreme diverse variations could produce the most stunning composition and enriching experiences; In art, in relationships, and the world around us.
