Philip Short is a primarily self-taught, constantly learning photographic artist.  Photography is one of several creative outlets for him.  Philip pursues it not to make a living, but to make living enjoyable.  Being a photographer was one of his childhood dreams, and he was fortunate enough to have loving parents who gave him the freedom and encouragement to explore the world and how he wanted to make his place in it.

Philip’s choice of medium originates from his exposure to the brilliance of Ansel Adams.  He was awestruck by almost every piece that he saw.  Philip loves how Ansel Adams took subjects often seen and photographed by many and presented them in new perspectives. His photographs had the ability to leave thought and or life changing impressions on those who saw his work.  

That impression has led Philip Short to want to pick up his camera and share his artistic visions. Philip Short’s goal as an artist is to live outside the box and continually look for opportunities to push his talents and his visions to their maximum potential. Philip sees being an artist not only as an opportunity to share your vision with those around you, but also with those who exist in a different space and time. “If I inspire, motivate, and captivate someone, especially someone who doesn’t know me…then my photographic career is a success!”
